Overnighter at The Pocket Campground

We have a great spot for when you just have to get away for an overnighter. From our front door to pulling into campsite is just about an hour.

This campground has 27 spaces, no hookups but does have bathrooms and water spouts throughout the campground. Cost is 10.00 per night with a 14 day maximum stay. We normally have our pick of sites and a couple of times we have been the only campers there.

This trip we got there late Saturday afternoon due to last minute decision to go. Nellie the  RV was loaded and ready to go in about 10 minutes. I forgot the butter so a stop at Dollar General had to be made. Everyone else must have had the same idea of getting one last camping trip in. There were less than 10 sites available by the time we got there and only a couple left by dark.

Ate our dinner and sat around the fire on a cool 38ish degree night.

A short road trip to Jack's River. Scouting out some weekend camping spots.

Took a look at Cotton Patch Campground and Slygo Campground.
Cotton Patch is set up for horses, not so much for our rv. Slygo was very run down.

Nomad Jack stuck at the homestead.

Steady Rain

My time out chair.

It's a rainy Saturday with nowhere to go. Donna had to work a couple of hours on Saturday and a couple of hours on Sunday. Hopefully the weekend work will end soon once she gets an assistant manager trained. Being grounded is giving me some time to do some research on up coming trips.

Here are some that I am looking into.

1. Coastal trip this November from N. FL to Charleston SC.
2. Big trip to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
3. Natchez Trace Parkway

It's time to make another cup of coffee and get out of this rainy day funk.

Old Stone Fort

A quick get out of dodge camping trip. Headed to Foster Falls first. Walk in camping only, off to the next place.

Old Stone Fort is just outside of Manchester TN. Has 51 campsites on a river. Will find out the name of river today.

Reservations are recommend but we were able to choose from six spots without any planning ahead. Spot # 22 would have been our choice if it wasn't taken.
